Insight Exchange: The Compliance Blind Spot: AI, Director Liability and What the Board Can’t Govern
October 28 @ 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm AEDT

Ask your risk and compliance team a simple question: where exactly is AI being used across the organisation right now, and what has been done to assess the risk it creates?
Most organisations cannot give a complete picture. AI has moved into HR, credit decisions, claims assessments, customer service, supplier and procurement processes—often introduced by individual teams or embedded quietly in tools already in use. It has happened faster than governance structures were built to track it, and quicker than most compliance functions have been resourced to keep pace.
AI doesn’t need its own dedicated law to create exposure. The moment it touches a decision, existing privacy, discrimination and consumer obligations can already apply, whether or not anyone has assessed them. Directors are also increasingly expected to understand and govern these risks, including risks that have not yet been identified.
This session explores where AI is creating compliance risk inside organisations, what laws and obligations already apply, and how those risks can be identified and governed before they become a boardroom problem or liability issue.
We’ll bring together operational and legal perspectives to examine how AI risk goes unnoticed, and what compliance teams can do to identify, assess and govern it.
If you can’t see the risk, you can’t govern it. In this session, we’ll show where to start.
This is a FREE Webinar for Members and Non-Members.
