About the Australian Compliance Institute (ACI)

The Australian Compliance Institute (ACI), formerly known as the GRC Institute, is Australia’s peak professional body for compliance, risk and governance professionals.

Established by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) to professionalise compliance and strengthen organisational capability, the ACI has evolved into a trusted, member-based organisation that sets, supports and advances professional standards across the compliance profession.

The ACI works closely with regulators and regulatory bodies to ensure members are well informed, well prepared and able to respond confidently to regulatory change. This includes engagement across financial services and prudential regulation, financial intelligence and anti-money laundering, competition, consumer and market regulation, as well as key coordinating bodies. Through these relationships, the ACI helps translate regulatory expectations into practical insights for professionals working on the front line of compliance.

Today, ACI members work across organisations of all sizes and sectors, from financial services and superannuation to government, consulting, technology and professional services. Individually, members and students span the full career spectrum, from those entering compliance roles for the first time to senior leaders with decades of experience.

As a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), the ACI delivers nationally accredited education and professional development, equipping compliance and risk professionals with the capability, judgement and leadership skills required in an increasingly complex regulatory environment.

No matter where you are in your professional journey, the ACI supports your ongoing development, helping its members build confidence, capability and credibility enabling them to excel as a trusted leader in compliance, risk and governance.
